Kazakhstan Oil Production Figures for 2017-2018

Output of oil and other liquids in Kazakhstan will increase to 1.81 million barrels per day in 2017 and 1.85 million barrels per day in 2018 according to the US Energy Information Administration.
Forecast for 2017 remained unchanged, while the forecast for 2018 is published for the first time.

The EIA expects that the petroleum and other liquids output in Kazakhstan in 2017 will reach 1.79 million barrels per day in Q1, 1.8 million barrels per day in Q2, 1.81 million barrels per day in Q3, and 1.82 million barrels per day in Q4. In 2018 petroleum and other liquids output in Kazakhstan is expected at 1.85 million barrels per day in Q1 and Q2 and at 1.84 million barrels per day in Q3 and Q4.

In December 2016 Kazakhstan committed, together with other oil producing countries, to cut productions by 20,000 barrels per day in an historic deal between OPEC and non-OPEC countries.

The Kazakh Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev announced that production will be reduced against indicators from November 2016. Kazakhstan’s compliance is particularly important for the deal as the country has increased output since the Kashagan field returned to be operational in October, however its committment sends a strong signal to world that Kazakhstan is ready to become a major player within the energy community.

Kazakhstan is still expected to be a main contributor of oil production from countries outside of OPEC.
