ALASH Day in Turkey

On October 23 of this year in Turkey (Istanbul), ALASH team, with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey and the Council of Foreign Economic Relations of Turkey (DEIK), held a round table meeting: “The procurement process of the oil and gas industry of Kazakhstan, the procurement plan for subsoil users and the conclusion of contracts” to attract Turkish companies in Kazakhstani oil and gas market through joint ventures with local companies. 

As part of the program, Mr. Mert Sary, Chairman of the Turkish-Kazakhstan Business Council, delivered a welcoming speech. 

From the Kazakhstani side, the speakers were: Executive Director of the Kazenergy Association Ruslan Kabzhanov, Official Representative of the National Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atameken on cooperation with oil and gas companies and oil service development Jakiyev Assylbek, Project Manager of the Kazservice Association Niyaz Zhumat and Director of Algoritmi KZ LLP Matticari Luigi. 

As part of the presentations, the current situation on the development of three large oil and gas projects KPO, NCOC, TCO, prospects for the development of KPO EP-1, FDT (NERP) projects TCO, Khazar, Kalamkas-Sea NCOC was presented, as well as a review of the key provisions of the new Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Subsoil and Subsoil Use” . In their speeches, the speakers emphasised the great potential of the oil and gas market of Kazakhstan for Turkish companies and the need to localise production in Kazakhstan, as well as the creation of joint ventures with Kazakhstani suppliers to work with operators. It should be noted that for a long time the operators have been doing a lot of work on the development of local content, due to the strengthening of the policy of the Government of Kazakhstan to increase local content. And entry into the market of Kazakhstan for international organisations through the creation of partnerships with local suppliers will be a significant advantage in the selection of tender procedures. The possibility of creating a joint venture is provided in the ALASH system, where suppliers can express a desire to create a partnership, as well as be presented on the list of potential suppliers. 

At the end of the meeting, the speakers provided detailed information on the issues of interest to the Turkish business community in the “Questions and Answers” section. The event was attended by representatives of more than 80 large and medium organisations of Turkey in the field of oil and gas.
